Dr. Adam Feltz serves as an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Oklahoma. He specializes in theoretical and applied science for ethical and informed decision making. Dr. Feltz is regarded as one of the world’s experts on the psychology and philosophy of ethical disagreement, and is best-known for his groundbreaking work identifying sources of fundamental philosophical biases in
Braden is a 4th-year graduate student in the lab. He received his B.S. in Psychology from Brigham Young University in 2017. His research focuses broadly on education-based approaches to decision support, with a current emphasis on decision aids aimed at increasing knowledge and acceptance of potable recycled water. Braden enjoys solving puzzles, playing disc golf, and spending quality time with his wife and two cats.
Asif joined the lab in the spring semester of 2020. His area of research is end-of-life decision making. He is currently studying the role of Do-Not-Resuscitate Order (DNR) knowledge in end-of-life decision making.
Gwen is a 2nd-year graduate student in the lab. She received her B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Mathematics from Union College (NY) in 2020. Her previous research has focused broadly on individuals’ perception and opinion, with a current emphasis on the trust factor in the context of potable water reuse. She is currently working on testing a generalized trust scale to assess its predictive validity in water reuse context. In her free time, Gwen enjoys reading, watching shows, and playing board games.
Jenna is a 2nd-year graduate student in the lab. She received a B.S. in psychology with an emphasis in developmental disabilities at Pitt State University in Pittsburg, KS. Her previous research focused on biological measures of individuals’ cognitive ability, specifically measuring visual acuity and working memory. She is currently in the early stages of developing an educational intervention to inform the public on multi-layer plastic recycling. In her free time, Jenna enjoys reading, playing with her dogs, and watching softball.
Dana is a first year student in the lab. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2019 from the University of Oklahoma. Her previous research focused on objective knowledge of potable reuse water. She is currently working on disparities that arise in the recycled water domain. Dana enjoys her time listening to podcasts and audiobooks, hanging out in coffee shops, and spending time with friends.
Ashton is an undergraduate student at the University of Oklahoma pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Spanish. She hopes to attend graduate school for clinical psychology, specializing in adolescence. Ashton currently works in the lab alongside graduate student Braden Tanner, assisting in his research in decision-making.
Emma is a third-year undergraduate student at the University of Oklahoma. Emma is pursuing her Bachelor's of Science in Psychology on a Pre-Med track. After graduating, she plans to attend medical school with current interests in specializing in pediatrics or psychiatry. Emma is currently working under graduate student Gwen Hoang researching the trust factor in reused water.
Molly is a 3rd year honors undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology Pre-Med with minors in Medical Humanities, Health and Exercise Science, and Human Relations. After graduating, she plans on attending medical school with interests in radiology and oncology. She is currently in her second semester researching the ethics and education of the Do-Not-Resuscitate Order under graduate student Muhammad Asif.
Hannah is a third-year undergraduate student at the University of Oklahoma pursing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. She will be graduating at the end of the Spring 2022 semester and has plans to pursue a master's degree in counseling psychology. Hannah is currently researching the trust factor of reusable water alongside graduate student Gwen Hoang.
Katie is an undergraduate student at the University of Oklahoma pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Health and Exercise Science. She hopes to attend graduate school for clinical psychology, specializing in neuropsychology. She is researching currently alongside second-year graduate student Jenna Holt, and specifically assisting her with research centered around implementing new methods for educating consumers about the problem with plastic as well as plastic recycling.
Natalie is an undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in criminology. She hopes to go to graduate school for clinical psychology. Natalie is currently in her second semester in the lab working alongside graduate student Braden Tanner. She assists Braden in his research in decision-making by helping with participants and experiments.
Kennedy is a second-year undergraduate student working towards a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in chemistry. Once she completes her undergraduate studies, she intends to become a doctor specializing in children with disabilities. Currently Kennedy is assisting graduate student Muhammad Asif with his research on end-of-life decision making.
Nitin is an undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in biology. He hopes to go to medical school following college. Nitin currently works in the lab alongside graduate student Muhammad Asif.
Eli Trenary is an undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He plans to attend graduate school for clinical psychology specializing in neurodevelopmental disorders. Eli currently works alongside graduate student Dana Mahmoud in her research in disparities within the domain of recycled water.
Saher is a psychology major working on her undergrad. She is looking forward to working on her masters afterwards. Saher currently works in the lab alongside graduate student Muhammad Asif. She would really like to go into the work of helping people with their mental health, also helping one feel their best possible self.
Azaan Hafeez is a third-year psychology student in the lab. Azaan is a premedical student looking to join medical school after graduation.
Maya is an undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Criminology. She is also a research assistant in Dr. Gronlund’s memory lab at OU. Apart from her studies, Maya is a family advocate intern and volunteer coordinator at the Mary Abbott Children’s House. Maya is interested in serving disadvantaged populations through clinical research in psychology. After graduation, she will complete her clinical experience before pursuing graduate education.
Saumya Kagal is a fourth-year student from Plano, Texas in the process of completing a BS in Community Health as well as a Spanish minor. She served as an undergraduate research assistant under GA Jenna Holt, collecting research and awareness about recycling knowledge and habits. She is passionate about raising awareness about recycling and other public health issues within communities. After graduation in Spring 2021, Saumya plans to attend medical school and pursue a M.D./MPH degree.
Ritu is a senior who is in the process of completing a B.S. track in Microbiology and Psychology. Ritu plans to attend medical school upon graduating.
Kelly graduated from OU in Fall 2020 with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Criminology. She has taken many research classes throughout her time in college at both OU and at Baylor University. Kelly conducted research under graduate student Gwen Hoang during her time in the lab. She plans to continue her research in Pharmacy school.
Taylor Richardson is from Laguna Beach, California, a four-year undergraduate student studying at the University of Oklahoma. A senior hopefully graduating with a Bachelor’s Of Science in Psychology, she wants to further her education by going to Graduate School. Pursuing her passion in psychology, she wants to get her PHD in Behavioral Neuroscience. She wants to further her research one day into her own research in order to improve upon the current understanding of the brain, neurological disorders, and cognition. With many topics of interest she plans to narrow her field in graduate school.
Kennedy Stearns is an undergraduate student at the University of Oklahoma pursuing a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Communication. She hopes to go to graduate school for clinical psychology, specializing in working with children. Kennedy is currently working with graduate student Jenna Holt, assisting her with research regarding the implementation of new technologies within recycling companies.
Mary Tappel (she/her) is a senior at OU. She is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in psychology. Mary worked as an undergraduate research assistant in the Feltz Lab under graduate student Gwen Hoang, and in the Mumford Lab in OU’s psychology department. Her research interests include decision-making and prejudice. In her free time, Mary likes to go on walks and cuddle with her cat, Dorian.
Olivia Tipton is a fourth-year undergraduate student in biology with minors in psychology and Spanish. While she originally planned to apply to medical school, she had a change of heart before beginning the application process and decided that a career in psychology would be a better match for her interests. After graduating, she hopes to begin a Ph.D. track in Clinical Psychology; her research interests include positive psychology, interpersonal communication, decision-making, and practical interventions for mental health.
Clayton is a 3rd-year undergraduate psychology student in the lab. He is currently helping organize articles in the Berlin Numeracy Test meta-analysis, under graduate student Braden Tanner. Clayton hopes to attend a PhD program after graduation.
Keshawn Wallace is a graduating senior at the University of Oklahoma working towards a B.S. in Psychology. He is a first-year undergraduate research assistant under Muhammad Asif, whose research is surrounded around the role of Do-Not-Resuscitate Order (DNR) and the knowledge it has in end-of-life decision making.
Matt is an undergraduate psychology student. He is worked in the lab under GA Braden Tanner, on a numeracy meta-analysis study. Upon graduating, Matt plans to attend graduate school for clinical psychology. Here at OU, Matt is the captain of the men’s gymnastic team.
